The fields of architecture and construction have both been affected by advances in technology in modern times. More advanced technology has enabled us to envisage and build structures that would have been unfeasible just a short time ago. Steel buildings are modular. All of the pieces are produced to spec beforehand and only need to be put together. The complexity of this depends on the size of the building in question but regardless of the size of the building, it is considerably easier to construct a steel building than a traditional brick and mortar structure. It’s not unreasonable to compare the process of constructing a steel building to constructing a piece of IKEA furniture, just on a larger scale.
